How Family Dentistry Is Done

Family dentistry is the core of our practice here at Dental Care of Franklin. We understand that good dental health at an early age can help ensure good dental health for a lifetime. Our aim is to help every member of your family enjoy a healthy life by providing personalized, compassionate care. As a family dentistry practitioner, Dr. Jason White takes a gentle approach with patients, really listening, reassuring them, and doing everything he can to make them comfortable, from providing a relaxed office environment to minimally invasive treatment options. While patients of all ages can experience anxiety and uncertainty during dental visits, children are especially vulnerable to this, as many of the experiences they’ll have—examinations and procedures—are new to them. You can count on us to treat each member of your family with the utmost understanding and sensitivity throughout their care here in our Franklin, TN office!

Root Canals

Root Canals

We can often save severely troubled teeth with root canals, where we remove the living tissue and signs of infection from the inside while leaving the roots intact. We then fortify the tooth by filling the empty space with gutta percha, which is a specially made dental material, and cap the tooth with a crown for protection and function.

Good Dental Health Begins at Home

We take your family’s dental health seriously, doing everything we can to improve and preserve it. While Dr. White and our team are highly skilled in family dentistry, there are limits to what we can do. The best way to minimize dental health issues is to practice good dental hygiene habits, and teach them to your children at an early age. Encourage your family to brush and floss their teeth twice a day. Also, keeping a healthy, balanced diet is key. Minimize consumption of foods and drinks that are high in sugar content, as these can promote tooth decay. Carbonated drinks, even the sugar-free kind, also contribute to decay. As an adult, you need to take all of these into consideration, and may need to adjust other habits as well. As enjoyable as coffee and tea are, remember that they can discolor your teeth over time. Tobacco products also stain teeth and should be avoided. Don’t forget to schedule those checkups, cleanings, and fluoride treatments for your entire family at our Franklin, TN office!
